This January, Christian Seidelin, former CFO of Norwegian pharmaceutical company Nycomed, signed to invest 3 million Danish kroner (€400,000) into ActionPlanner. After exiting Nycomed, Seidelin had expressed his interest in investing capital into a startup, which led to his investment in Veloso’s ActionPlanner earlier this year.

ActionPlanner is an application designed for executive management with the objetive of enabling firms to align, empower and progress.  This tool helps firms and individuals to plan for the future by encouraging them to establish clear goals, identify milestones and create realistic deadlines. The product, which is web-based, offers an efficient and hassle-free way for businesses of all scales to recognize their goals and implement strategies in order to achieve them.

ActionPlanner is the brainchild of Victor Veloso, who launched the product three years ago and has been working on it for six. He recognizes his creation as being vital to businesses who wish to attain the goals they set:

“Companies are great at making strategies and action plans. They are less good at following up on them… The result is that things do not happen, so you do not reach the goals you have set. ” Victor Veloso

Victor is a man who has his fingers in many pies; he involves himself in numerous projects and activities. Alongside his work as the Senior Executive Consultant at Veloso, he engages actively in ActionPlanner as the company’s main driving force, as well as working as a spinning instructor at fitness dk.

Since its launch, ActionPlanner has achieved multiple prominent, international clients including Nordea, FOSS and NCC, but the company still hasn’t gained the international recognition it might deserve.

The investment from Christian will primarily go towards funding the company’s growth, hopefully allowing it to expand to a scale at which it is able to achieve the traction necessary to succeed in Silicon Valley. To do so, ActionPlanner intends to hire a chief marketing officer (CMO) who will ensure that the company is recognized among Scandinavia’s other top dogs, thus finally granting the company more recognition within the industry.

Planlægningsværktøj hjælper med eksekvering af strategi og handlingsplaner

ActionPlanner fik for nylig en investering på tre millioner kroner, som vi skrev en artikel om. Midlerne skal bruges til ekspansion i det nordiske marked, hvorefter stifter Victor Veloso vil bringe produktet direkte til Silicon Valley og senere til resten af verden.

“Vi har høje ambitioner og samtidig respekt for den vækstøvelse, vi er på vej ind i. Vores benchmark er SuccessFactors, som danske Lars Dalgaard lykkedes med at vækste inden for Talent Management. Vi vil gøre kunststykket efter med ActionPlanner – bare inden for Execution Management.”

Victor har arbejdet i 15 år med Execution Management, som han påpeger er et helt andet bæst end Project Management. ActionPlanner er ikke et projektstyringsværktøj, men et eksekveringsværktøj til organisationen og et projektopfølgningsværktøj til ledelsen. 

“Eksekvering er en kompleks ledelsesdisciplin” siger Victor og forklarer, at ActionPlanner støtter ledere i at bryde de overordnede strategiske mål ned, aligne og uddelegere dem til medarbejderne samt efterfølgende at føre en fokuseret performance opfølgning i en travl hverdag.

Indtil videre er bl.a. Nordea, Foss og NCC kunder i butikken, og Victor mener da også, at ActionPlanner går godt i spænd med ambitiøse virksomheder, som allerede arbejder professionelt med strategiudviklingen, og som ønsker et værktøj til at sætte yderligere strøm til eksekvering af handlingsplanerne.

“Kunderne ønsker kort og godt bedre eksekvering og gevinstrealisering! Det kan ActionPlanner hjælpe dem med,” siger Victor.

Specialisering gennem konsolidering af brugerdata i visuelle roadmaps

Et vigtigt element for at opnå gevinstrealisering er ifølge Victor et overblik i realtid. Det hænger sammen med, at man som leder har svært ved at styre eksekveringsprocessen uden et overblik i realtid efter devisen om “ude af syne ude af sind”, og “det man måler, er det man får”. Victor er da også stolt af, at kunne tilbyde sådanne overbliksrapporter i realtid, som i ActionPlanner regi kaldes visuelle roadmaps.

“Visuelle roadmaps i realtid bringer mange positive sideeffekter med sig, herunder, at man kun har ét sted hvorfra man finder alle virksomhedens handlingsplaner, mere effektivt samarbejde og vidensdeling omkring actions samt early warnings fordi man følger eksekveringspulsen meget mere frekvent.”

ActionPlanner vil sætte en ny standard for strategieksekvering

Gennem sit arbejde med eksekvering har Victor udarbejdet en omhyggelig model for, hvordan organisationer eksekverer bedst, og den danner rygraden for ActionPlanner.

Spurgt om ActionPlanners “hemmelige sovs”, fortæller Victor, at der ikke er én enkelt funktion, der udgør innovationen. I stedet er det en veltilrettelagt kombination af funktionalitet og design, som er skræddersyet til eksekveringsprocessen, som er nøglen til ActionPlanner.

“Vi vil sætte en ny standard for strategieksekvering og ønsker at gøre det sammen med andre ambitiøse kunder og samarbejdspartnere,” afslutter Victor.
