It does so by utilising the information and work you have already placed into ActionPlanner. From the information you have provided, the “Priority list” generates an interactive overview, with no additional effort required from you. Reading through this quick guide provides insight and understanding of these items, and how they can add value to your work.

Once you have more than one action prioritized, you will be able to drag and drop them within the table. By doing so you can place them in the order you wish to tackle them, starting with the top of the list and working your way down.

Best practice is to have the first action on your “Priority list” list being what you are working on right now and have the list only include the actions you expect to execute the present week. This will also indicate your expected workload, and will sanity check the planned workload versus time left in the week.

An example of how you can utilise the “Priority list”, is that you can sit down with your manager/employee once a week and use the list to prioritize what will be worked on in the coming week, using the drag-and-drop functionality. If changes occur either you or your manager can input/delete or reorganize the list to indicate the new prioritization. This “Visual Agenda” in real-time enables the right dialogue at the right time.

“Roadmap overview” is the third tab inside ActionPlanner and this is where you find all activities visible to you inside the system, across the organization.

ActionPlanner allows you to shift between the following three types of views in your roadmap:

These views each present information in different ways. This becomes handy as a reporting tool, where you are able to get a real-time overview of the initiatives you and your team are working on.

List view is designed to be the user’s everyday base of operations combined with the priority list. This is where you can see what upcoming items you have across the roadmap, decide which actions to focus on e.g. this week, add them to your “Priority list” and prioritize them in the order you would like to execute the actions.

Upcoming milestones and actions

The two sections for milestones and actions can be very beneficial with regards to the daily execution of your work. It gives you a clean overview of what work you have upcoming. You can quickly get a feel for your entire workload and discover potential bottlenecks before they cause problems for you down the line. Together with the Outstandings listed in the dropdown in the top right-hand corner items become visible, with sufficient enough time for you to avoid being surprised by them.

What is even better, is that your manager can see the workload (that you have not marked private) in real-time. This provides you with a high level of transparency. If you are overloaded, your manager now has the opportunity to realize it on his or her own and make the necessary adjustments to alleviate you.

Time spent in meetings will be utilized better, given that the team already knows what everyone is working on, and when they are delivering. Focus is on what to do about issues and challenges rather than what happened.

Access the TIMELINE view in both “My overview” and “Roadmap overview” by unfolding the “VIEW” button featured on the left side of both screens;

Each initiative bar color indicates the latest status of the initiative. Hover your mouse on any initiative bar to see the latest initiative feedback;

Milestones are marked as circles in each of the the initiative bars, likewise color coded to indicate the feedback or lack thereof on each of the milestones. Hover any milestone to see the latest milestone feedback;

Unfold the roadmap structure to customize your view by clicking the arrow on the right side of the objective or initiative, customise your timeline view using the filter in the upper right hand corner.
